over 8 years ago – Fri, Oct 23, 2015 at 11:38:53 PM

Hello All!

So things are drawing to a close, all the game boxes are printed and are waiting at the port in China to be shipped across the ocean! From there, shipping should go quickly as my fulfillment company will be sending the games out within the same week they get the boxes. Until then however, here are some pics taken from the final Collector's Edition box, enjoy!!!!! :D

Surveys, Pre-orders and Add-ons!
almost 9 years ago – Sat, Aug 08, 2015 at 04:33:32 PM

Hello Everyone!
Lots of content I want to go through, so I will keep everything as succinct as possible.

Address Surveys are coming tomorrow morning! They are being sent out through backerkit and will say I am the sender (Anthony Sato) and that a response is needed, which is true :D! The sooner we get all the data the quicker things will move.

I want to make it clear that at this point ALL the extra content in the Collector’s Edition game box is non-retail content. Anything in the Collector's Edition that is not in the Core Box is exclusive; the only way to get it is through pledging for this Kickstarter (unless you see me in person). I am a firm believer in crowdfunding; it is one of the coolest things to me. I believe that everyone who is supporting something in advance is taking a risk and for that, should be rewarded with extra special content. I am planning future campaigns in a similar way, with the retail version of the game available at a lower price and a Collector’s Edition with a ton of extra exclusive content. The survey tomorrow will allow you to upgrade your pledge to a Trull Slayer (which includes the Collector’s Edition reward) if you are at a lower level. The image below shows you what to look for if you want to upgrade.

Trull slayer and above tiers will be able to add on a second Collector’s edition box for $50 without any extra shipping costs (there is a limited number). Also, I am accepting pre-orders for a short time that will allow those who missed the 25 day campaign to get a Collector's Edition box before they become unavailable (boxes are $60 each, with a limited supply). To pre-order, just click the link on the top of the Kickstarter page that says “Pre-order Here!” In the future, pre-orders will not be available this late in the game, however many things are going to be different and much more organized.

I have started developing extra content (free) for Pocket Odyssey and plan on supporting and growing that content till at least, March 2016. At that time I will examine the success of that content which will determine if I continue producing it. I will also start production on Pocket Odyssey 2 starting in January 2016 for a 2017 crowdfunding campaign. I am already very excited about the theme and content of the next game, but info on that will have to wait a while. The "new content" I am working on now will be released when the boxes are being delivered in October.

I have everything ready to go for fulfillment, once the surveys are in, things will move quickly. Everything will be pretty automated; I won’t have to touch a lot. The games should be done mid-September, take a couple weeks to cross the ocean on ship, then the fulfillment company will get the games out within a week. So October is looking pretty good right now for delivery.

The pic above shows some digital proofs I received for the final look of the printed components.

Future updates will include previews and explanations of the new content that I am making for Pocket Odyssey (again, this is free for everyone, not an expansion). I am very excited about it; the biggest announcement will go out when the boxes reach the fulfillment company warehouses in October. Till then I will be plugging away at developing it. All I can say is, that if you know someone who you think would love this game, let them know about the pre-orders, because the new content is going to be more enjoyable with all the extra components from the Collector’s Edition box.

Lastly, I wanted to thank everyone again for your patience, the project is wrapping up, but it has been long overdue! I will keep you posted and give you more info as the games get closer to shipment, till then, keep supporting more Kickstarter projects!

July Update
almost 9 years ago – Sat, Jul 11, 2015 at 04:32:53 PM

Hello Everyone!

Things on the development side are (finally, but really!) drawing to a close. I have been toiling away at wrapping everything up over the past couple months and it has been… intense. I have enjoyed the work though, and everyone on here being so patient and encouraging has made this process so much easier for me, so again THANK YOU!!! That being said, every time I sat down to “finish” something, I always found more work than expected, but I have been trying to make sure not to rush through anything during development (some of you may be laughing right about now, obviously I didn’t rush, right). I am nervous to “hit the send button” on these files, but am looking forward very much to everyone getting to experience the game. Without any more rambling, let me get to the update.

I will be sending the files to WinGo this Saturday (they are the manufacturer, and have been great, BTW). If you have time to help me look through the rulebooks one last time, they are here below. Both the Core Box and Collector’s Edition.

I will be madly double and triple checking all my cards and materials till that date! When I deliver the digital files, I will be adding the gifs below to help explain how I expect all the fronts/ backs to line up. There are SO many different types of cards! Anyway, thought it would be good to show everyone since it does give a good feel for what they will look like, though not an exact match (corners will be rounded for ex.) This should also help you to see other updates I have made… like the reference card! Ohhh, that took much more time than I had anticipated.

Wanted to add a quick overview of the next steps. WinGo gave me an estimate of a couple months for printing, during that time I will make sure to send pictures as I get them. My largest task now is finalizing the fulfillment center that I will be using for delivery; I have been shopping around, but must finally make a choice. Afterwards I can determine the most effective survey to send out to you, I would expect that in 3-4 weeks. I will also be working on getting a site up for pre-orders as I have received many requests and have just been too busy. So expect that as well.

Lastly, I wanted to make a recommendation for anyone working on a professional level document, whether that be a MA thesis paper or a rulebook for a game. I have been working with Amy Gralewski, recently and highly recommend her. She makes the whole process easy, is very thorough and clear with her changes, is extremely fast, and at a very reasonable price. Her email is [email protected].

Just to throw this reminder in, since this is the first time for me to work with fulfillment (worldwide!), your patience is VERY much appreciated. However, I do promise I will be working hard to get the shipping going smoothly and effectively. Thanks again everyone!!! You guys are so great! Keep supporting more Kickstarter projects :D!!!
